NASHUA – Fifteen residents were forced from their homes following a fire that broke out at 50/52 Temple St. on the afternoon of July 9.

According to Nashua Fire Rescue, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Nashua Police alerted firefighters that smoke was coming from the residence. A first alarm was called dispatching crews from the Amherst Street and East Hollis Street fire stations.

East Hollis Street firefighters arrived first and reported smoke coming from the second floor. The Amherst Street firefighters arrived a short time later and assisted with ventilation as well as search and rescue.

With temperatures in the 90s combined with the size of the building, Deputy Chief Scott Mobley increased the incident level to a working fire. This dispatched crews from the Lake Street and Conant Road fire stations.

Firefighters were ultimately able to confine the blaze to the second floor. No injuries were reported; however, the residence sustained smoke and heat damage.
