SALEM – Andrew Hannaford, 31, of Londonderry, was taken into custody in the early-morning hours of July 10 after allegedly going the wrong way on Interstate 93.

According to State Police, at 1:55 a.m., troopers found Hannaford travelling south on the northbound side of the highway.

Hannaford, who was driving a 2021 Kia Sorento, rear-ended an 18-wheeler tractor trailer after turning his vehicle around. He suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.

He has been charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, reckless conduct, breach of bail and reckless driving.

Hannaford was held on preventive detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Salem District Court on July 13.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison, up to 10 years of probation and at least $10,500 in fines.
