The New Hampshire Forum will bring its statewide civic engagement initiative to Nashua on July 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., inviting residents across the political spectrum to help shape citizen-driven policy recommendations for state lawmakers.

Hosted by UU Nashua and Daring Democracy New Hampshire, the free Community Conversation will be held at the UU Church of Nashua, 58 Lowell St. Republicans, Democrats, undeclared voters and residents who have never participated in the political process are encouraged to attend. Participants will discuss practical solutions to the issues Granite Staters have identified as the state’s highest priorities.

Over the past several months, thousands of New Hampshire residents have identified four key issues through surveys and community engagement: housing affordability and home ownership, property taxes and state revenue, public education funding, and energy costs, sources and reliability. Input from the Nashua conversation, along with discussions held statewide and online, will help shape recommendations for the Civic Assembly in September before they are presented to state lawmakers.

“The New Hampshire Forum is built on a simple idea: the best solutions emerge when people with different perspectives come together to solve problems,” said Lisa Nash, state director of the New Hampshire Forum. “Republicans, Democrats, undeclared voters, and people new to the political process all have something valuable to contribute. Our goal is to find common ground and develop recommendations that reflect communities across New Hampshire.”

A light dinner and refreshments will be provided.
