Nashua man charged in domestic dispute

NASHUA – Edwin Halverson, 52, of Nashua, was taken into custody on July 1 following an alleged domestic disturbance.

According to the Nashua Police Department, the victim told officers that he and his brother, Halverson, got into an argument, which escalated into a physical confrontation. The victim reportedly told officers that Halverson struck him and threatened to attack him with a knife and scissors.

Halverson has been charged with domestic violence simple assault and domestic violence-criminal threatening with a deadly weapon.

He was held without bail and was arraigned in Nashua District Court on July 3.

Under state law, if convicted, Halverson could face up to eight years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $6,000 in fines.
