Nashua woman accused of assaulting a child

NASHUA – Bethsaida Matiz, 40, of Nashua was taken into custody on June 22 in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers received a letter from the state Division for Children, Youth and Families indicating that Matiz had physically abused a young boy who she knew.
Matiz has been charged with second degree assault (domestic violence).
She was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on June 23.
Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
