NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua is inviting the community to come together this summer to participate in the organization’s first-ever shoe drive, taking place from July 1 through Aug. 31 across Greater Nashua.

The drive supports the Greater Nashua Shoe Fund, an ongoing United Way initiative that provides essential footwear to individuals and families in need. Every donated pair helps ensure local residents have the shoes they need to work, stay healthy and move forward with confidence.

“Something as simple as a reliable pair of shoes can have a powerful impact on someone’s daily life,” said Michael Apfelberg, president of the United Way of Greater Nashua. “It might be a pair of work shoes for a homeless youth starting their first job, or specialized footwear for a person with diabetes. Through the Greater Nashua Shoe Fund, we’re able to meet a basic but critical need for members of our community.”

The Greater Nashua Shoe Fund operates year-round, distributing footwear to children, adults and seniors throughout the region.

Residents can drop off donations from July 1 through Aug. 31 at the following locations:

-United Way of Greater Nashua, 20 Broad St.

-Crunch Fitness, 18 Northwest Blvd.

-Sky Meadow Country Club, 6 Mountain Laurels Dr.

-YMCA of Greater Nashua, 24 Stadium Dr.

-The Nash Casino, 310 Daniel Webster Hwy.

-Nashua Community College, 505 Amherst St.

-Southern New Hampshire Health, 8 Prospect St.

-Nashua Bingo, 166 Daniel Webster Hwy.

-The Nashua Telegraph, 110 Main St.

-Gate City Casino, 55 Northeastern Blvd.

-Nashua Senior Activity Center, 70 Temple St.

-Hudson Senior Center, 19 Kimball Hill Rd., Hudson

In addition, a special drive-through donation event will be held on Aug. 18 from 10-4 p.m. at the United Way office.

This convenient drive-through option makes it easy for community members to contribute without leaving their vehicles.
