City man charged in bank robbery

NASHUA – Mario Morgan, 41, of Nashua, was taken into custody on June 9 following an alleged bank robbery.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to Citizens Bank at 238 Main St. and were given a description of Morgan. Officers located him in the area a short time later.

Further investigation determined that Morgan, who was not armed, put his backpack on the counter and demanded money from the teller.

He was held on preventive detention and has been charged with robbery. Morgan was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on June 10.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
