NASHUA – James French, 83, of Hudson, was taken into custody on June 6 for allegedly damaging two vehicles at MacMulkin Chevrolet.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 3 Marmon Dr. and were told that French, a longtime customer, intentionally scratched vehicles in the dealership’s parking lot.

An employee reportedly to police that French was upset with a recent transaction and retaliated by scratching the vehicles.

French was arrested at the scene and has been charged with criminal mischief (+$1,501).

He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on July 8.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
