City woman accused of hitting toddler

NASHUA – Rotcy Rodriguez Fernandez, 20, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 27 in connection with a domestic violence incident involving a one-year-old child.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on May 26. After conducting a preliminary investigation, they determined that Rodriguez Fernandez injured a male victim and struck the toddler in the face. The child was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Rodriguez Fernandez has been charged with second degree assault-domestic violence; bodily injury with the victim being less than 13 years old and domestic violence-simple assault.

She was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 28.

Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to eight years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $6,000 in fines.
