United Way to host free beginner-friendly tech workshop

NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua, in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Nashua, will host a free, beginner-friendly technology workshop May 26 at 2 p.m. at the YMCA of Greater Nashua, 24 Stadium Dr.

Offered as part of the organization’s Confident Online series, the session will help participants feel more confident creating and managing online accounts.

Designed for community members of all experience levels, the workshop will introduce practical, easy-to-understand skills for getting started online. Topics will include setting up email and social media accounts, downloading and using apps, creating strong passwords as well as adjusting privacy and security settings.

The workshop is part of ongoing efforts by the Greater Nashua Digital Access Coalition to expand digital access and ensure that all community members have the skills needed to participate fully in today’s digital world.

Thanks to the support of sponsors including Comcast, the Confident Online series helps ensure that digital literacy education is accessible to everyone in Greater Nashua.

Workshop topics will include:

-Creating and managing email and social media accounts

-Downloading and using apps on mobile devices

-Choosing strong, secure passwords

-Adjusting basic privacy and security settings

“Getting started online can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to setting up accounts and staying secure,” said Sara Ceaser, director of volunteer and community engagement at the United Way of Greater Nashua. “This workshop offers clear, friendly guidance to help participants build confidence and take those first steps safely.”
