Nashua man charged with assault

NASHUA – Sheldon Grant, 44, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 12 following an alleged assault.
According to the Nashua Police Department, the victim told officers that Grant strangled her to the point where she could no longer breathe.
He has been charged with second degree assault (strangulation).
Grant was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 13.
Under state law, if convicted, Grant could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
