Massachusetts man charged with stalking Londonderry women

LONDONDERRY – Jose Castelano, 20, of Lowell, Mass., was taken into custody on May 5 for allegedly stalking two women.
According to the Londonderry Police Department, officers responded to a home on Bancroft Road at 8 p.m. After arriving at the scene, the two women reportedly told police that Castelano saw them leaving Walmart in Manchester and began following them back to Londonderry. When they arrived home, Castelano allegedly approached the two women in their driveway, claiming that he needed a cell phone charger.
Castelano remained in the driveway until police arrived and he was placed under arrest.
Further investigation revealed that Castelano was in possession of a cell phone that belonged to the University of Vermont Medical Center. Police contacted personnel at the medical center, who confirmed that the phone had been stolen.
Castelano has been charged with stalking and receiving stolen property.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to two years in prison and up to $4,000 in fines.
