Lamprey Health Care CEOs named nonprofit leaders of the year

By Staff | May 7, 2026

NEWMARKET – Lamprey Health Care recently announced that CEOs Susan Durkin and Gregory White have been named the 2026 Nonprofit Leaders of the Year by Business NH Magazine and the New Hampshire Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The recognition, featured in the May issue of Business NH Magazine, honors leadership that drives organizational excellence, community impact, and service during times of change.

This year marks the first time the award has been presented to a leadership duo, reflecting Lamprey Health Care’s co-CEO model launched in 2023. As New Hampshire’s largest federally qualified health center, Lamprey serves more than 40 communities and more than 17,400 patients through an integrated system of primary care, behavioral health, dental services and community-based programs.

For Lamprey, the award is not about individual recognition. It is a celebration of shared leadership and the people-powered impact created every day across the organization.

“Not every workplace shares leadership in the way we do,” said Durkin. “At Lamprey, teamwork and individual excellence at every level make it possible to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to our patients and communities. Greg and I are proud to accept this award on behalf of an entire ecosystem working together.”

Lamprey’s magazine ad for the award highlights a core belief of the organization: award-winning leadership, people-powered impact. This recognition reflects the community impact created together every day by clinicians, front-facing teams, outreach workers, care coordinators, administrators and partners.

“This award affirms that shared leadership is not a theory. It is a practice,” said White. “Our co-CEO model works because of trust, collaboration, and the expertise our staff bring to their roles. This honor reflects their commitment to patients, to each other, and to the communities we serve.”

Since adopting its shared leadership model, Lamprey Health Care has continued to grow – in scope and impact – while advancing access to care, workforce stability, and community partnerships across the region. The organization recently became the largest FQHC in New Hampshire and continues to innovate in response to complex health and social needs.

As part of the award, Lamprey Health Care will receive a $5,000 unrestricted grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation to support its mission.

Lamprey Health Care will celebrate this recognition with staff and stakeholders in the weeks and months ahead, reinforcing a simple message from the co-CEO team: “This award is a culmination and reflection of shared leadership at Lamprey Health Care, built through teamwork, trust, and excellence across all roles.”
