Hudson man unlawfully entering vehicles

HUDSON – John Barbuti, 38, of Hudson, was taken into custody for allegedly entering vehicles during the early morning hours of May 6.

According to the Hudson Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 3 a.m. after residents reportedly observed the suspect entering and going through several vehicles. Upon arrival, police began searching for Barbuti, who had fled into the woods. The State Police K9 was called in to assist and Barbuti was later placed under arrest.

He has been charged with 11 counts of criminal trespassing, 12 counts of loitering or prowling, three counts of theft by unauthorized taking, two counts of falsifying physical evidence, seven counts of breach of bail and resisting arrest or detention.

He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 7.

Under state law, if convicted, Barbuti could face up to 36 years in prison, up to 10 years of probation and up to $38,000 in fines.
