HUDSON — Cody Maki, 26, of Fitchburg, Mass., and Edward Paquin, 60, of Hudson, were recently taken into custody as part of the Hudson Police Department’s operation to enforce sex offender registration compliance.

According to police, Maki was listed as having residences in both Hudson and Massachusetts. However, investigators later determined that his Hudson address was no longer valid. In addition to not telling authorities that he no longer lived in Hudson, Maki failed to report a change in his employment as well.

He has been charged with four counts of sexual offender registration-failure to comply.

Maki was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on April 28.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 28 years in prison, up to 20 years of probation and up to $16,000 in fines.

Paquin was arrested during a March 23 compliance check. According to police, Paquin failed to report a change in his employment status. Investigators later learned that his change in employment happened “well beyond” the legal deadline.

Paquin has been charged with sexual offender registration-failure to comply.

He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on March 30.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
