City man charged with sexual assault

NASHUA – Peter Hernandez, Jr., 28, of Nashua, was taken into custody on March 26 on a warrant accusing him of felonious sexual assault.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on March 23, officers responded to the report of a child who had been sexually assaulted. Following the investigation, detectives identified Hernandez as their suspect. It was also reported that Hernandez knew the victim.
He has been charged with felonious sexual assault domestic violence, was held on preventive detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on March 27.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
