Londonderry man dies following I-93 rollover crash

DERRY – Larry Niles, 53, of Londonderry, died of injuries he sustained during a rollover crash on Interstate 93 south on the afternoon of March 9.

According to State Police, troopers responded to the scene just before 2 p.m. They determined that Niles, who was driving a 2007 Ford Focus, was stopped in the right breakdown lane when he was rear-ended by Aiden McCarthy, 22, of Dracut, Mass., who was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Express van.

McCarthy was not hurt and remained at the scene following the collision. Niles was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and died two days later.

State Police were assisted by the Derry and Londonderry fire departments as well as the state Department of Transportation. No charges have been filed as the crash remains under investigation.
