HUDSON – Nicole Boucher, 48, of Pelham, was taken into custody on Feb. 19 for allegedly forging veterinary records and prescriptions in a scheme to obtain Xanax.

According to the Hudson Police Department, on Jan. 16, Boucher obtained 90 Xanax tablets from a local pharmacy using a fraudulent prescription. On Jan. 18, she returned to the same pharmacy and attempted the transaction with a different fraudulent prescription.

Boucher switched tactics after she failed to get additional tablets.

The following day, police received a report from a local veterinary clinic indicating that Hudson Animal Hospital had contacted them regarding medical records they had received for Boucher’s dog.

Although medical records are typically transferred by hospital personnel, Hudson Animal Hospital allegedly received the records directly from Boucher. Hospital employees quickly noticed a number of differences as the length and formatting of Boucher’s document was not consistent with standard medical records.

It was also discovered that Boucher’s dog was never seen on the date listed in the document she submitted. The document also listed a veterinarian who was no longer in practice.

Boucher has been charged with three counts of forged prescription/order, two counts of breach of bail and possession of a controlled drug.

Boucher was scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 20 in Nashua District Court.

Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to 28 years in prison, up to 20 years of probation and up to $16,000 in fines.
