CONCORD – Merrimack County Savings Bank recently wrapped up its annual Mitten Tree Drive with 2,800 in community donations.

The new and handmade mittens, gloves, hats and scarves were delivered to local nonprofit organizations to distribute to those in need.

“We’re grateful for the outpour of community support, especially our local knitters that work year-round on donations for our drive,” said bank President Linda Lorden.

For every item collected, The Merrimack pledged $2 to community food pantries, amounting to $7,100 in donations distributed to the following organizations: the Bow Food Pantry, Friends of Forgotten Children in Concord, the Henniker Food Pantry, the Hooksett Food Pantry, the town of Hopkinton/Food Pantry, Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, Shepard’s Pantry in Windham and Twin Rivers Food Pantry in Franklin.
