Patriots beat Texans to advance to AFC Championship Game

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — It wasnt pretty, but the New England Patriots have advanced to their first AFC Championship Game in seven years.

The Patriots downed the Houston Texans 28-16 in snowy Gillette Stadium Sunday thanks in part to four interceptions thrown by Houston QB C.J. Stroud in the first half one a pick six by Patriot Marcus Jones.

New England will now take on the Denver Broncos next Sunday at 3 p.m. EST at Denver’s Mile High Stadium for the right to go to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, Calif.

The Patriots were up 21-10 at halftime Houston had five turnovers overall.

Patriots QB Drake Maye tossed three TD passes, including a 32-yard one-hand grab by Kayshon Boutte with 12:58 to play that made it 28-16.
