NASHUA – The Nash Casino recently presented a combined $1.3 million in contributions to eight nonprofit organizations on Dec. 23.
This extraordinary amount was accumulated from the combined revenues generated by games of chance, historical horse racing machines and newly launched video lottery terminals during the month of November. In the first nine months of operations, The Nash generated an unprecedented $13.3 million for New Hampshire nonprofit organizations.
“During the holidays, we’re reminded of the power of community,” said General Manager Eric Althaus. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to support local nonprofits that bring comfort, care and joy for children, families and service members. Partnering with organizations that make such a meaningful difference in people’s lives is something everyone at The Nash takes great pride in.”
The recipient organizations are as follows:

Matthew Courchesne, the founder and executive director of Helping Our Pupils Excel New Hampshire, Inc., said the funds from The Nash will help continue services like food, athletic gear, driver’s education, musical instruments and field trips for the many students they mentor in partnership with the city of Manchester.
“My friends and I got into this because we couldn’t turn our backs on the kids who really needed our help and it’s been life changing for the kids but also life changing for us,” Courchesne said. “These funds will also help us get the word out about our unique volunteer mentorship model and hopefully inspire others to do the same in their own hometowns.”
