City man charged with Crown Hill robbery

NASHUA – Joan Cesar Alvarez, 24, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Dec. 20 in connection with an alleged robbery at Crown Hill Market.

According to the Nashua Police Department, on Dec. 20, officers responded to 89 Allds St. and were told that Alvarez came into the store twice demanding money from the victim and holding him at knifepoint.

Police identified Alvarez using video surveillance and placed him under arrest. He has been charged with robbery and falsifying physical evidence.

Alvarez was held on preventive detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Dec. 22.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 29 years in prison, up to 15 years of probation and up to $12,000 in fines.
