NASHUA – Southern New Hampshire Health recently hosted Gov. Kelly Ayotte for a roundtable discussion focused on opportunities and challenges as well as the evolving needs of healthcare across the region.
During her visit, Ayotte toured the medical center to gain a deeper understanding of the comprehensive, high-quality care provided locally. The tour included a look at the health system’s state-of-the-art laboratories and a first view of construction progress on the new heart and vascular center. Additionally, she met with physicians, nurse practitioners and physician associates, hearing about their work to foster a compassionate, healing environment for patients and families.
“To build a healthier future for all of New Hampshire, it’s important to have everyone at the table to talk about how we can tackle our challenges and take advantage of opportunities,” said Ayotte. “I was glad to visit Southern New Hampshire Health to discuss ways to grow our health care workforce, expand access to affordable, quality care for Granite Staters and find new and innovative ways to serve patients.”
During the roundtable discussion, Southern New Hampshire Health leaders shared their vision for the future of healthcare in the region, with a focus on expanding access to care, improving patient experience, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The conversation also centered on the health system’s longstanding commitment to caring for all individuals who seek care and the importance of continued collaboration at the state level.
“Partnership with our elected officials is critical as our state’s healthcare needs continue to evolve,” said Colin McHugh, president and CEO of Southern New Hampshire Health. “Ongoing collaboration with Gov. Ayotte and other policymakers helps ensure we can continue expanding access, advancing innovation, and meeting the healthcare needs of our communities now and into the future.”
