LONDONDERRY – On the evening of Dec. 9, Londonderry Police responded to Rockingham Road between Smith Lane and Mammoth Road to assist Manchester Police with a traffic stop.

According to the Londonderry Police Department, the driver, who was stopped at 9:15 p.m., refused to comply with commands from Manchester officers. A Manchester SWAT team and negotiators were also called in as the incident evolved into a standoff.

The incident ended shortly after 11 p.m. with the driver taking his own life.
