NASHUA — Great American Downtown invites the community to celebrate the season with three exciting events later this month.

Main Street Unwrapped – Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon

Downtown Nashua will unwrap Main Street for the very first time! After a week of decorating and anticipation, businesses will reveal their festive holiday windows in a joyful community celebration. Join Santa, Olaf from Frozen and the Great American Downtown team as we stroll Main Street, unveil the decorations and officially kick off the season.

Local retailers will offer seasonal specials, sweet treats and warm beverages — making it the perfect morning to shop, sip and celebrate with family and friends.

Plaid Friday – Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to close of business

Skip the mall and celebrate Plaid Friday, a nationwide movement encouraging shoppers to shop small and support local businesses. Start the day at Fortin Gage Flowers, 86 West Pearl St. The first 100 patrons will receive a complimentary commemorative Plaid Friday tote bag filled with goodies and exclusive offers from downtown merchants.

From there, explore participating shops, cafés and restaurants for special deals and festive experiences throughout the day. Don your favorite plaid, shop local and help keep the spirit of community strong this holiday season.

Thirtieth Annual Nashua Winter Stroll – Nov. 29 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The city’s most beloved tradition is returning for its 30th year. The evening begins with a candlelit procession from the Nashua Performing Arts Center at 201 Main St. The procession will be led by Santa Claus, Mayor James Donchess and a special guest. The evening will culminate with the lighting of the 25-foot Christmas tree at the new Riverfront Pavilion.

New attractions this year include:

-A synthetic ice-skating rink with free skate rentals

-A 40-foot, three-lane snow tubing slide

-The Little Locomotive trackless train, offering free rides along Main Street all evening
