MANCHESTER — The Bishop Guertin boys soccer team captured the Division I boys soccer championship Saturday night, 1-0 over city rival Nashua South on Nick Chartier’s rebound goal about 11 minutes into the second sudden death overtime period.

Chartier trailed a rush by Guertin forward Ryan Neary and after Nashua South Antonio Pancine made the initial save, Chartier pounced on the rebound and kicked it home for BG’s first boys state soccer title since 2004.

Guertin, the No. 3 seed, finishes the season 16-2-2 while Nashua South, the No. 1 seed, concludes the season at 16-2-1.
