By Staff | Nov 5, 2025

NASHUA — The negotiating teams for the Nashua Teachers’ Union and the Board of Education recently announced a tentative agreement on a new contract covering American sign language interpreters and family engagement coordinators as of Nov. 4.

This agreement represents a historic milestone as this is the first-ever union contract for these two groups, who recently joined the NTU as Units E and F.

The next steps in the process include a detailed review and finalization of the contract. The tentative agreement will be presented to the NTU Board of Directors on Nov. 18 for a ratification recommendation. Members of both units will then vote on the agreement on Dec. 15.

Following ratification by the union membership, the Board of Education will take its own vote. If approved by both the NTU and the board, the contract will be presented to the Board of Aldermen for final approval.

Both negotiating teams expressed their appreciation for the collaborative spirit and constructive dialogue that characterized the negotiations. They shared optimism that this agreement will strengthen the partnership between the district and its employees and help ensure continued excellence in Nashua’s public schools.
