City man facing seven sexual assault charges

NASHUA – Steven Cooper, 50, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Nov. 3 for alleged sexual assault.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on June 5, officers received a report that Cooper had sexually assaulted two children whom he knew. Further investigation revealed that he had been assaulting them since 2021.
Cooper has been charged with seven counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault – pattern of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of child or incompetent.
Under state law, if convicted, Cooper could face up to 154 years in prison, probation for up to the rest of his life and up to $8,000 in fines.
Cooper was held without bail pending his arraignment in Nashua District Court on Nov. 4.
