Nashua man facing numerous drug charges

NASHUA – David Vega, 41, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Oct. 29 for the alleged possession of several controlled drugs including fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine.
According to the Nashua Police Department, the Narcotics Intelligence Division began its investigation after receiving information that drugs were being sold in the city. Vega was ultimately identified as the suspect.
The department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team later executed a search warrant on Vega’s residence.
Vega has been charged with the sale of a controlled drug (fentanyl); subsequent offense, three counts of possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute (fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine); subsequent offense, being an armed career criminal (firearms), possession of a controlled drug (buprenorphine) as well as dealing or possessing prescription drugs (gabapentin).
Vega was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Oct. 30.
Under state law, if convicted, Vega could face up to 165 years in prison, up to 10 years of probation and up to $2,510,000 in fines.
