NASHUA — Police have a suspect in custody and now say, according to reports, that there is not another suspect in a shooting with what was termed multiple victims at Sky Meadow Country Club.

New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Department Chief Kevin Rourke have said that one man was killed and several wounded. One report said at least a half a dozen were wounded but there was no official confirmation. However, police now say there is no public threat.

Police made the determination there was only one gunman after reviewing surveillance footage, reports said. Earlier police were reportedly searching for a second suspect and residents of Dunstable, Mass. areas of Thorndike, High and Hardy streets were ordered to shelter in place by local Emergency Management there, according to reports, due to a police manhunt. Sky Meadow is located near the Dunstable town line.

“Vido Surveillance has confirmed there was only one shooter and they are currently being detained,” Nashua police have posted. “The scene is still an active investigation but there is no further danger to the public.”

Police confirmed just after 8:30 p.m. that a shooting had occurred, and reports say they had arrived at the scene at about 7:45 p.m. According to WCVB and WMUR, a witness who was attending a wedding there said the gunfire came from the attached restaurant.

Reportedly there is a heavy police presence in the area. Nashua police have asked that anyone with information contact them at 603-594-3500.

Nashua police have set up the Sheraton Hotel at nearby 11 Tara Boulevard as a reunification site, meaning families of anyone who may have been at the country club can go there.
