NASHUA – The Nash Casino recently collected an estimated 500 scholastic items as part of a school drive for fellow team members and their families, which was more than three times what was needed.

As a result, the casino was able to donate hundreds of items to the Nashua School District on Sept. 15.

“The Nash is proud to do its part in ensuring students in Nashua schools have access to the resources they need to learn and succeed,” said General Manager Eric Althaus. “This staff-led initiative reinforces our commitment to supporting the Nashua community beyond providing a premium entertainment and gaming experience for the community to enjoy.”

Donated items included pens, pencils, pencil cases, highlighters, crayons, rulers, erasers, binders, glue, folders, notebooks, back packs and cleaning supplies.

The initiative came about when The Nash Casino Fun Committee, a committee dedicated to planning internal engagement events, decided to pursue a September school drive to aid team members and their families in preparing for the upcoming school year. After gathering a stunning quantity of scholastic items over the course of two weeks, team members were granted the opportunity to take what was needed, leaving the majority of the items unclaimed.
