City man accused of assaulting young girl

NASHUA – Jose Turipe, 35, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 15 for allegedly assaulting a young girl.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers received a report from the state Division for Children, Youth and Families indicating that Turipe knew the girl and had been physically assaulting her.
Turipe has been charged with second degree assault-domestic violence.
He was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 16.
Under state law, if convicted, Turipe could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
