Nashua man charged in Mason Street assault

NASHUA – Jason Soto, 45, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 2 in connection with an assault on Mason Street.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to the scene and were told by the victim that she was assaulted by a group of individuals.

Upon making contact with Soto, officers discovered that he was in possession of illegal drugs and a brass knuckle switchblade-style knife.

He has been charged with being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and acts prohibited: possession of a controlled drug.

Soto was held on $500 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 3.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 22 years in prison, up to 10 years of probation and up to $8,000 in fines.

In May, Soto was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute crack cocaine and fentanyl. In August 2021, Soto he charged with fentanyl possession in Nashua and in Merrimack.
