NASHUA — Harbor Care recently announced the appointment of Dr. David Klebenov as the medical director of the Harbor Care Health & Wellness Center.

A board-certified family physician with a commitment to health care for all and patient-centered care, Klebenov brings extensive experience and a collaborative, human-focused leadership style to this vital role.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Klebenov guiding the medical direction of our Health & Wellness Center,” said Henry Och, president & CEO of Harbor Care. “His thoughtful approach, clinical expertise and dedication to underserved populations align perfectly with our mission.”

Klebenov has practiced medicine in New Hampshire since 2016. He completed his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine and earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Wagner School New York University. He completed his residency at the New Hampshire-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency Program at Concord Hospital.

Klebenov previously served as a family physician at Steward Medical Group in Salem and as the medical director for a New Hampshire county jail. He also held dual clinical and leadership roles at Monadnock Community Hospital and the RiverMead LifeCare Community in Peterborough. Earlier in his career, Klebenov provided full-spectrum care for the Navajo Nation.

“What drew me to Harbor Care is the chance to do two important things,” said Klebenov. “First, to care directly for a vulnerable patient population — and second, to help a mission-driven organization improve how healthcare is delivered across programs. It’s not just healthcare here — it’s housing, mental health, veteran support. That kind of integrated approach is rare and incredibly meaningful.”

Klebenov emphasized the shared human needs that unite patients regardless of setting or circumstance.

“Anywhere in the world — whether it’s a war-torn region or a wealthy suburb — people need guidance and expertise to live healthier lives,” he said. “The details may vary, but the core need is always the same.”

As medical director, Klebenov will help guide Harbor Care’s clinical strategy, support team development, and strengthen care coordination across programs. His leadership is focused on enhancing what he calls “the human engine” of healthcare.

“Any operation — especially one like ours — is ultimately defined by its people,” he said. “My goal is to support staff so they can work together effectively, feel fulfilled in their roles, and deliver exceptional care to every patient.”
