NASHUA – Bigfoot, the original monster truck, will be on display at Sullivan Tire and Auto Service, 369 Amherst St. on Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Photo opportunities with the 10,000-pound Bigfoot will be available, along with Bigfoot swag and Sullivan Tire swag while supplies last. In addition, a remote-controlled scale replica of Bigfoot worth $350 will be given away to the lucky winner of a drawing.

“We are thrilled to bring the iconic Bigfoot truck to some of our locations as part of our ongoing 70th Anniversary celebrations this year,” said Paul Sullivan, vice president of Marketing at Sullivan Tire. “This is a fun family event, and we look forward to seeing the community stop by for a photo opportunity and chance to win a radio-controlled Bigfoot.”

Along with Sullivan Tire’s anniversary, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the original Bigfoot by Robert Chandler, who modified a 1974 Ford F-250 four-wheel-drive pickup truck beginning in 1975. By 1979, the modifications were so extensive, the truck came to be regarded as the first monster truck. Sponsored by Firestone, today’s Bigfoot is the latest generation of this legendary vehicle.
