Londonderry car wash gutted by two-alarm blaze

LONDONDERRY – A two-alarm fire ripped through Alan’s Car Wash 3 Hampton Dr. shortly before 11 p.m. on July 25.
While en route, firefighters were told that smoke could be seen “billowing” from the building and that the fire had burned through the roof.
Upon arrival, Lt. Christopher Lamy ordered a second alarm which brought in firefighters from Hudson, Windham, Pelham, Salem and Derry.
Londonderry firefighters with Ladder Company 2 deployed one hose line to attack the flames as other companies responded. A deck gun was also deployed by firefighters with Engine 1.
The blaze was brought under control by 11:56 p.m. Crews remained at the scene until 2:20 a.m. extinguishing hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
Additional details have not been released as the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
