NASHUA – The Nash Casino presented a combined $1.6 million in contributions to 10 New Hampshire nonprofit organizations on July 22.
The funds were generated from a percentage of games of chance and historical horse racing machine revenues during the month of June. In May and June, The Nash generated an unprecedented $3.3 million, for a total of $6.3 million during the first four months of operations.
“As the state’s largest charitable gaming venue, giving back to the community is a central part of who we are,” said General Manager Eric Althaus. “Whether it’s helping families in need, supporting the arts, local students or area veterans, it is incredibly gratifying to help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.”
The recipients include:

Steven Desmarais, Board president of the Boys and Girls Club of the Souhegan Valley, said the record-breaking contribution of nearly $169,000 will have an equally historical impact on the youth they serve.
“This can be life changing to the youth of the Souhegan Valley,” he said of the charitable contribution. “I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say it can even save a life. We have heard the stories of a few young people we served who returned to us as adults, crediting the Boys and Girls Club with providing them a safe place, consistency, mentorship and hot meals during a time in their life when not all of that was available to them at home.”
