RISE announces fall semester information session
NASHUA – The Rivier Institute for Senior Education Fall Information Session will be held on Aug. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Rivier University’s Dion Center, 16 Clement St.
New and returning members are invited to attend, bring a friend, enjoy refreshments, and meet RISE members. RISE facilitators will be available to talk about their courses. Door prizes will be awarded. Parking is available across the street from the Dion Center, with handicap parking available adjacent to the building.
The fall course schedule and descriptions will be posted at rise-rivier.wildapricot.org on Aug. 11. Registration for the fall term is Aug. 15 through Sept. 2. Two five-week terms will be offered beginning on Sept. 8 and ending on Nov. 14.
RISE offers a variety of courses to individuals over age 55 who are dedicated to lifelong learning. Fall classes are offered on-campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Courses span a range of topics including literature, history, writing, technology, art history, personal enrichment, science, health, exercise and music.
There are no grades, no tests, and no credit for courses taken. Members thrive in an environment with no pressure and lots of encouragement, social interaction and engagement.
