HUDSON – After more than 75 years in Nashua, longtime pin manufacturer W.H. Bagshaw recently celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 11 Executive Dr. in Hudson.

“This really sets us up for the next generation,” said President Aaron Bagshaw during the June 23 ceremony.

U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) called attention to the company’s longevity as the oldest pin manufacturer in the U.S. She said W.H. Bagshaw had already been in business for 33 years when Wilbur and Orville Wright flew the first airplane.

“The Wright brothers hadn’t yet created the plane and today, W.H. Bagshaw keeps those planes in the sky,” said Hassan.

She also said the company’s “pride and quality” is a testament to innovation in New Hampshire.

Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) said the company is always reinventing itself.

“You are forever young, you are a steadfast pillar,” she said. “Our small businesses are the beating hearts of our communities.”

W.H. Bagshaw was founded in Lowell, Mass. in 1870 at a time when machine shops and hydro-powered textile mills were booming.

After 79 years in Lowell, the company made the move to New Hampshire and found its new home in the Gate City where it would remain for the next seven decades.

The company has also received its share of accolades during its 155-year history including Small Business of the Year, Family Business of the Year and the Butland Small Family Business Award.
