LITCHFIELD – Jean Lopes, 41, of Hudson, was killed on June 3 when his Harley Davidson motorcycle slammed into the back of a Toyota RAV4 at 519 Charles Bancroft Highway in Litchfield.

According to the Litchfield Police Department, first responders found the RAV4 and the motorcycle in the southbound lane.

Lopes was found to be unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the RAV4 was backing up onto Bancroft Highway when Lopes hit it from behind.

The identity of the driver of the RAV4 was not released.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
