City man charged with assaulting child

NASHUA – Brandon Castro, 38, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 21 on a felony warrant charging him with second degree assault; domestic violence.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on April 8, officers received information about a child who was assaulted.
After further investigation, detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau confirmed that Castro was their suspect.
In addition to second degree assault; domestic violence, Castro has also been charged with simple assault; domestic violence.
Under state law, if convicted, Castro could face up to eight years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $6,000 in fines.
He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 21.
