United Way and Nashua Public Library to host Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair

NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua and the Nashua Public Library will be hosting the Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair on May 22.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Chandler Wing of the Nashua Public Library, 3 Court St.
This free event brings together more than 30 local nonprofit organizations offering a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Whether you’re passionate about youth development, food security, environmental sustainability or supporting older adults, there’s a place for you to get involved.
Meet local organizations like The Caregivers and the Girl Scouts and learn how you can lend your time and talents. From delivering groceries to homebound neighbors, to helping kids thrive at summer camp, each nonprofit is eager to connect with potential volunteers just like you.
Residents will also have the chance to speak with the United Way about its volunteer-powered programs, including Digital Navigators, Pop-Up Pantries, Food and Hygiene Drives, tutoring initiatives and more.
Volunteering isn’t just about helping others–it’s good for you, too. It’s a chance to gain new skills, reduce stress, expand your social network, and even boost your mental and physical well-being. Studies have shown that people who volunteer report greater life satisfaction and lower rates of depression.
Here in New England, especially in New Hampshire, the spirit of service is strong. According to AmeriCorps’ Volunteering and Civic Life in America report, New Hampshire ranks fourth in the nation for volunteerism, with more than 400,000 people giving their time to strengthen their communities.
Whether you’re a student fulfilling service hours, a newcomer looking to build local connections, or a longtime resident ready to give back, the Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair is a welcoming, one-stop opportunity to explore the many ways you can make an impact.
