City man charged in fatal Kinsley Street crash

NASHUA – Jason Fitzgerald, 52, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 11 for his alleged involvement in a fatal motor vehicle crash on Kinsley Street.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to 193 Kinsley St. at 9:30 a.m. where they found a 58-year-old man who had reportedly been struck by Fitzgerald’s vehicle. The victim was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Fitzgerald was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and the Accident Reconstruction Unit later determined that Fitzgerald was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. He has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated resulting in serious bodily injury.
Fitzgerald was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 12.
Under state law, if convicted, Fitzgerald could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
