NASHUA – On May 4, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation recognized 140 firefighters, including Lt. Jessica Wyman of Nashua Fire Rescue.
Wyman dedicated 26 years to the New Hampshire Fire service, including more than 16 years to Nashua Fire Rescue.
Wyman was promoted to lieutenant in June 2010, serving in several stations until settling down at Station Four on East Hollis Street. This was the station Wyman would retire from, the busiest company in the city right up to her final shift on Sept. 30, 2017.
Wyman battled occupational cancer with the same courage and inspiration that she lived her life each and every day. She died on Nov. 28, 2023.
Her death was directly linked to her work in the fire service and was ruled a line of duty death by Safety Commissioner Robert Quinn in April 2024. Her name was added to this memorial in October 2024.
