NASHUA – Tiana Brown, a senior at Nashua High School North, was recently named Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.
“Tiana’s selection as this year’s winner is a testament to all the hard work she has shown over the last year and all the amazing things she has achieved,” said club Executive Director Craig Fitzgerald.
Brown will be representing the club at the State Youth of the Year competition on May 12.
“We are so happy and proud to have Tiana represent our organization at the upcoming state competition,” said Fitzgerald. “Her dedication to excellence and her caring attitude towards others represents all that we hope for in our members. We are excited for what the future holds for Tiana.”
The club also inducted Julie Dubé and Hannah McCarthy into its Hall of Fame for their “unwavering dedication to youth development.”
A club alum, Dubé went on to assume a number of staff leadership positions and served the club for more than 18 years. During that time, she led the Keystone Club to Legacy Club status and led the Torch Club to numerous awards from the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
McCarthy, a club advocate for the past 40 years, has served on the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and the Capital Campaign Committee.
“Julie and Hannah represent everything we hope to cultivate in our club community: dedication, compassion and an unwavering belief in the potential of young people,” said Fitzgerald. “Their leadership and love for this organization have made a generational impact, and we are proud to honor their legacies.”
New this year, the club recognized four Nashua educators as Teachers of the Year. They include Melissa Hickey of Dr. Crisp Elementary School, Fallon Vigeant of Ledge Street Elementary School, Valerie Paquin of Pennichuck Middle School and Gerald Moylan of Nashua High School North.
