Massachusetts man accused of stealing construction equipment

NASHUA – James Fidler, 54, of Ashburnham, Mass., was taken into custody on April 23 in connection with an incident involving construction equipment that was allegedly stolen.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on Jan. 24, officers were notified about construction equipment that was taken from a jobsite at 75 Manchester St. The missing equipment was reportedly valued at more than $1,500.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division identified Fidler as their suspect after speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance images. Working with the Ashburnham Police Department, Nashua officers were able to recover several pieces of construction equipment from Fidler’s home.
Fidler has been charged with theft by unauthorized taking in excess of $1,500.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
Fidler was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on June 25.
