NASHUA – Four months into her first term on Capitol Hill, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) has announced that she will be running for reelection in 2026.

She had considered making a run for the U.S. Senate. However, following a “period of reflection,” she decided that serving New Hampshire’s Second District in the U.S. House of Representatives would continue to be the best way to push back against President Donald Trump.

“This is a moment of profound crisis and challenge in our country as the president of the United States leads a cruel assault on the basic foundations of our Constitutional order and in many cases, basic human decency,” said Goodlander.

She also said the House is currently controlled by the GOP, which is something that needs to change.

“Taking back the House is the most consequential thing we can do to check the excesses of President Trump and chart the path forward for New Hampshire and America,” she said. “To address the urgent mission at hand, we must unite in a common cause and in relentless defense of the promise and values on which our great country was founded. I look forward to the work ahead and to keep earning the trust and support of the people of New Hampshire.”

Since taking office, Goodlander has been the lead sponsor of 17 bills, seven of which have passed in the House. She also sits on the Armed Services and Small Business committees.

“For too long, small businesses have not had a seat at the table,” said Goodlander.

Regarding constituent services, she has opened field offices in Nashua, Concord and Littleton. Goodlander and her team have taken on 130 constituent cases, 56 of them have been resolved. The most common problems residents in the Second District are facing include receiving their Social Security checks on time, obtaining a U.S. Passport and accessing veterans benefits.

Goodlander and her team are accepting new cases on an ongoing basis. Constituents can contact her Concord office at 603-226-1002.

“I’ve travelled to all 10 counties in the state,” she said. “The beating heart of this job is constituent services.”

Goodlander garnered 53 percent of the vote in last year’s general election to defeat Republican Lily Tang Williams, who received 47 percent.

Prior to representing New Hampshire’s expensive Second District, Goodlander was a senior advisor at the White House and led the Unity Agenda for the Nation under then-President Joe Biden.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School. In addition, Goodlander served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 11 years and reached the rank of lieutenant.
