Nashua Teachers’ Union and school officials reach tentative agreement on new teachers’ contract

By Staff | Apr 23, 2025

NASHUA — The negotiating teams for the Nashua Teachers’ Union and the Board of Education announced that a tentative agreement on a new teachers’ contract was reached April 22.

This milestone marks the first time in 14 years that a tentative agreement has been reached prior to the expiration of the current contract–an achievement both sides are proud to share.

The next steps in the process include a thorough review and finalization of the contract language. The tentative agreement will be presented to the NTU Board of Directors on May 13 for a ratification recommendation. The full membership of the teachers’ unit will then vote on the agreement on May 27.

Following the NTU vote, the Board of Education will take its own vote on the same day. If the agreement is ratified by both the union and the Board of Education, it will be submitted to the Board of Aldermen for final approval.

Both negotiating teams expressed their appreciation for the collaborative spirit and constructive dialogue that led to this positive outcome. They are hopeful this agreement will strengthen the foundation for continued excellence in Nashua’s public schools.
