Massachusetts teen charged in August 2023 shooting

NASHUA – Nigel Griffin, 19, of Chelmsford, Mass., was taken into custody on April 17 in connection with a shooting that took place in the summer of 2023.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on Aug. 16, 2023, officers responded to the intersection of West Hollis and Vine streets after receiving “several reports” of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police reportedly found multiple businesses and one vehicle that had been hit by gunfire. The vehicle was occupied by one adult and two children; however, no one was injured.
After reviewing video surveillance, detectives identified Griffin as a suspect who allegedly fired a gun across West Hollis Street.
Griffin has been charged with four counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, riot and the felonious use of a firearm.
Under state law, if convicted, Griffin could face up to 42 years in prison, up to 30 years of probation and up to $24,000 in fines.
He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on April 18.
