NASHUA – Nashua Community Arts and Spectacle Live hosted the beloved children’s storybook character Pete the Cat at the Nashua Center for the Arts on April 14.
The performance brought the popular storybook series to life for Nashua’s second grade students.
Based on the best-selling Pete the Cat book series by Eric Litwin and James Dean, the performance immersed students in Pete’s groovy world through catchy songs, fun storytelling and vibrant stage production. The event was designed to foster creativity, promote literacy and inspire a love for reading and learning among young audiences.
“This was such a treat for the children. They can’t stop talking about the singing and the overall trip to the Nashua Center for the Arts,” said Patricia Kaufman, principal of New Searles Elementary School. “This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of them. Thank you for accommodating all of our needs with ASL interpreters. It was a great day for all.”
The generous proceeds from the successful First Annual Nashua Community Arts Gala played a key role in bringing the Pete the Cat performance to Nashua’s second grade students at no cost to the students or the district. Thanks to the generosity of donors at the Nashua Community Arts Gala, this event brought fun and educational value to Nashua’s second grade students.
“We were thrilled that our second graders across the district were able to experience the Pete the Cat performance,” said Jacqueline Okonak, principal of Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. “The children shared how excited they were to be at the Big Theater to see the play. We appreciate the staff who worked behind the scenes to secure the grant and work the logistics in making this magic happen for our students. Many of our students may never have this experience, so I’m grateful they were given this opportunity.”
